Farewell to "father of hybrid rice"

Yuan longping , a Chinese national top  scientist ，who developed the first hybrid rice strain that relieved countless people of hunger, died on Saturday at the age of 91 in Changsha .

scientist Yuan Longping has been called grandpa yuan by Chinese people, who was truly beloved in China and by all of us who knew him, will be greatly missed .His legacy will provide inspiration to generations far into the future, in China and across the world .

People have expressed their grief in their own ways .People from all over the country spontaneously prepare flowers to honor deceased  grandpa Yuan . some flower shops owner in Changsha provided chrysanthemums for free. Some cab drivers transferred people arriving from other places by train to the mortuary at no charge. Some who could not come had flowers delivered to the mortuary.And some other people who can't go to Changsha mourn on the net.
